Frozen Empanadas
Your empanadas from, for example, Nemlig.com come frozen and are best prepared directly from the freezer.
Place baking paper on a baking tray and make sure there is enough space around each empanada. Bake them in a convection oven at 220°C.
Wait until the oven is fully heated before placing the empanadas inside. This will help achieve a crispier crust.
Bake for 15-17 minutes until they are crispy and have a slightly golden edge.
Your empanadas should now be heated through.
If you can wait a few minutes, let them rest and cool slightly so the filling can set.
Especially if you’re eating empanadas with cheese, be aware that the filling can be very hot.

Pre-baked Empanadas
If you have access to our pre-baked empanadas, it’s even easier – they usually only need under 10 minutes in the oven.
It is important to remember that pre-baked empanadas need to be refrigerated / chilled to achieve the best results. They can be frozen, but should be defrosted before baking.
Set the oven to 220°C while you prepare your baking tray. It’s a good idea to use baking paper.
Your empanadas should have a slight golden color before they are fully ready.
In our opinion – empanadas taste better with a dip!
