At LIMA Empanadas, we make our empanadas from scratch and fill them with all kinds of delicious fillings. Our empanadas vary widely, ranging from meat-filled to vegetarian, vegan, organic, and even dessert empanadas. We love coming up with new varieties and are constantly developing fresh ideas in our kitchen in Aarhus. Empanadas originate from Latin America and are a convenient snack – perfect for eating on the go. We enjoy experimenting with different fillings in these little bread pockets. While beef and chicken empanadas are the most traditional and popular, we also offer empanadas inspired by Greece (feta/spinach). We’re also proud to make organic empanadas, taking a little extra care for the environment and everyone around us. We’re always on the lookout for new inspiration, so there’s something for everyone.

The empanada with ground beef is one of our classics! It’s classic in the sense that it can be found almost everywhere in Latin America, capturing the warm and crispy essence of an empanada. Additionally, it has a hint of Peruvian Ají Panca chili, which brings our hearts back to Peru. We import the chili through our partner Taste of Latin America. Beef empanadas are perfect for both kids and adults.

Our chicken (pulled) empanadas are a traditional Peruvian dish reinterpreted into an empanada! The dish is called Aji de Gallina, a Peruvian spiced chicken dish made with yellow chili, Ají Amarillo. The chicken is marinated in the chili, a bit of milk, plenty of delicious turmeric, and is mixed with potatoes! It’s Danish welfare chicken at its best!

Chicken is one of the cornerstones of our “Empanada Universe”.

Our pulled pork BBQ empanada has quickly become one of the favorites. It’s rare to go wrong with pulled pork tossed in the classic smoked BBQ sauce with garlic, thyme, and a bit of potato. It’s a hit with both adults and kids. The trick to the beautiful red-purple color in the dough are beetroots.

Our veggie empanada is packed with a variety of delicious vegetables and potatoes! The vegetables are combined with the Peruvian Ají Panca chili, which gives everything a sweet and rounded flavor. Zucchini is the dominant vegetable, adding both flavor and texture to our empanada. Additionally – it is vegan!

The Greeks know something special, both in the kitchen and with their unique lifestyle. We’ve put a little bit of Greece into our feta-spinach empanada. It’s the Greek feta made from sheep’s milk that elevates the flavor. Combined with the soft, white cheese and plenty of fresh thyme, you can almost smell the breeze from the fresh seawater on the Greek islands.
